Avoid Extremely Loud Environments

To remove earwax buildup, try flushing your ears out with a mixture of warm water and hydrogen peroxide. You might also have luck with one of the earwax removal kits sold in stores. You should avoid inserting cotton swabs or other objects into the ear canals as this can result in you pushing the earwax in farther or damaging your eardrums. Ear candling is also not recommended for removing earwax.
Take the Right Supplements
You can even try taking supplements that are known to promote good ear health. Certain supplements help by protecting sound receptors in the brain and repairing damaged tissues that may cause impaired hearing. Magnesium is sometimes effective in combatting some of the effects of hearing loss. LIVESTRONG.COM also recommends taking vinpocetine, acetyl L-carnitine and alpha lipoic acid. Most supplements come in pill form and can be taken daily.
Keep the Ears Dry
The ear canals are breeding grounds for bacteria when a lot of moisture is present. High amounts of bacteria can cause an ear infection. If you go swimming, you might get a case of the dreaded “swimmer’s ear” that happens when an infection forms from water in the ears. You should use a towel to dry your ears thoroughly after bathing or swimming. Wearing earplugs while swimming can also keep the insides of the ears dry.
